millionreasons: (marnie)
I've already reviewed Wrote For Luck because it was also in the FF 1989 (much higher up the chart). It's still impossible to get the original video on youtube: the WFL re-issue has the beats higher up in the mix and the jangly guitar lower down. But the jangles were important, the band were indie as well as dancey. I still revile the early 90s indie-dance genre that the Happy Mondays and Stone Roses influenced; it was the beginning of landfill indie as we know it. Candy Flip. Mr C-era Shaman. That fucking Soup Dragons song that ruined Summer 1990. I do however have a soft spot for the Tin Tin Out cover of The Sundays' Here's Where The Story Ends, although that came somewhat later.
