I've never seen Loop live, but I remember going to the Camden Falcon in '91 or '92 on a night that they played. The Falcon was a literal spit 'n' sawdust pub where bands played at the beginning (or end) of their careers. New to London, I sat in the bar and was reasonably impressed by members of That Petrol Emotion hanging around (minor league indie scenesters did not lurk around pubs in Doncaster). Anyway, I didn't go in and see them because long-haired, long-winded soundscapes are not great to watch live, but this song is quite nice to have on in the background. They must have been pissed off when Spacemen 3 and The Telescopes nicked their schtick a few years later.

I've finished On The Slow Train; I was quite slow reading it too, three weeks to do fewer than 200 pages. Book 190 is Bitten By The Tarantula and Other Writings by Julian MacLaren Ross. It's a 500 page mixture of short stories, book reviews, essays and parodic fiction.
