Odd that whilst Motown released several Christmas albums, this idea wasn't emulated by the Atlantic or Stax artists, or any of the more bluesy soul stars of the sixties. Where's Wilson Pickett doing Jingle Bells? Is there a forgotten version of I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus by Edwin Starr? Booker T covering White Christmas?
Anyway, I like this original trumpet-laden pop-soul song with only a hint of sleighbells.
