millionreasons18 months after the 7th July attacks, school has come up with an Emergency Plan should we be all locked in the building folowing a civil emergency (Clapham parents rioting after the deli ran out of buffalo mozzarella?). There is also an emergency pack to be kept in a suitcase in an accessible cupboard. This will contain: contact numbers for pupils, staff, agencies and hospitals, a mobile phone, radio, walkie-talkie, keys, duct tape and high visibility vests. I do hope there will be a copy of Protect and Survive in there as well.
Facing the choice as whether to go out into a dirty bombsite/nuclear winter, or stay in the building with my colleagues and the children, I reckon I'd take my chances with the radiation poisoning.

Oh commuters, you know that you are dispensible. Anyone could do your job as well as, or better than, you. You are not important. In a hundred years, no-one will remember anything about you - and pushing and crushing and rushing on the tube and on the pavement will not do a thing to change this.
