Last weekend - to Kingston to walk along the Thames path with Dave#1 and Becs to Hampton Court Palace where I refused to dress up as a Tudor but did feel a bit sorry for Henry VIII. He went through all that trouble to get a male heir, and when he did, the boy King only went and died 6 years into his reign, and Elizabeth preferred to horde power rather than making sure it was carried on; the Tudors only lasted three generations.
This weekend, we did one portion of the Egg hunt, stopping off for flat whites in Fix, around Broadgate Circus (the hidden bit behind Liverpool Street station) into Leadenhall Market, along Lime street, around the Monument, inside the Gherkin and the Natwest Tower and into Devonshire Square, where the security guard questioned us as to what we wanted. "Eggs", we replied. Not sure it's a great idea putting public art into a private space if the gateholders of that space are reluctant to let people into it, but if you're ever in the Houndsditch area, check it out.
This was my favourite. It was called Metropolis although I thought its name should be Everything Is Illuminated.Sat
