Autumn Fifty - number 26
Nov. 1st, 2012 08:42 amThe Fieldmice - Sensitive
There's an indiepop urban legend about this entry - twee-poppers The Fat Tulips sent in a load of postcards with their top 3 songs of the year as: 1. The Fat Tulips - Where's Clare Grogan now? 2. The Fieldmice - Sensitive and 3) - something else. Probably Birdland. Because it was an obvious mass vote, the first nomination was ignored, but the second vote wasn't. Similar to when Belle and Sebastian won best newcomer at the Brit Awards because their fans could use the internet and Steps fans couldn't.
Anyway, this is the only Sarah entry, and a kind of manifesto - pale, emotional boys from South London can make a hell of a racket with a drum machine and a four track and coupla guitars.
