Poetry Corner

I found this poem in the exercise book in which I used to write (other people's) poems. I don't know who it's by and the internet won't tell me.

Lines

November
and the Sunday twilight
dark at four -
its hard unbroken rain
battering the garden.
Vacantly,
I fill this first weekend alone
with anything
the radio, a paperback you never rad
lost faces lift
shovels
clink

Autumn Fifty - number 23

Stone Roses - Fool's Gold

This song reminds me an incident at school:- painting the scenery for a school production, someone put this on the cassette recorder and everyone danced on the stage. This sounds like I went to the school in Glee and indeed, I did spend a lot of time s(k)ulking in the music room, but it was a rare moment of schoolchild unity, of everyone being in the same moment. We didn't go to raves, we didn't even go to gigs, but we had ten minutes of Madchester in between registration and double English.

It's a fabulous song.
