Hardback (from library). Yes, I had noticed there was no paperback (yet). I liked that even though I guessed the murderer, there were still bits that I had to go back and read again because I'd been misled the first time.
It's better than Gone Girl (IMO), because it seems more based on reality: there was a point in GG when I felt it was getting a bit silly. I think you'd like it.
