It's still a week until August bank holiday (the official end of summer) and I'm already thinking about things so unnecessary in summer - jeans and radiators and boots and hats and Lancashire hotpots and end of year MP3 compilations. Even the unlifted crocus bulbs have started to come up.

But it still feels too early for yellow leaves and conkers and low-slung lemon moons.
