Underachievers must try less

Feeling terribly under-motivated this morning after spending last night at North London toilet The Dublin Castle. I haven't been to that venue since Fosca played an unexciting gig there in 2002 and the place still looks as if the new millennium hasn't happened. I did however manage to find some meagre air-con to stand under in order to escape from all the smokers trying to asmthatise me. We were there to see Architecture in Helsinki, an Australian band who sound like the unholy hybrid of Dexys Midnight Runners and Misty's Big Adventure and possibly some other 3-word bands. They had some great 3 minute popsongs tucked tidily away into 10 minute soundscapes and 5 min trombone solos. Everyone in the band, even the drummer, played the trombone. They did a cover of Love Is the Drug at the end; it should have been 76 Trombones.
In the meantime, inspired by the health food shop down the road becoming an Italian deli, I am thinking of moving to Napoli and setting up a Yorkshire bakery. Black pudding instead of chorizo, cobs replacing ciabatta, parkin not panettone. It could work!
