End of Year Reports

I have to send out all the Reports to Parents to, erm, parents today (or when I get around it, possibly Wednesday). The reports have changed a bit since I were a lass when they were handwritten things tied up with string saying: Rachel is a quiet member of the class...Rachel doesn't seem to enjoy Physics...Rachel doesn't try very hard at PE...If Rachel wants to pass her GCSEs she might have to put a bit of work in...Lovely recent essay from Rachel, now can I have the rest of her homework...etc etc etc. Nowadays, all the teachers have to do is make marks on a spreadsheet and it comes out all fancy with tickboxes and grades and stuff without them having to write a single sentence. This is fair enough until something goes wrong with the look-up tables and the only person in the school who has been on an Excel course (me) has to sort the bugger out.
Thing is, what with the pupils by and large having different surnames to their parents, I'm convinced that in the predicted heat of Wednesday and the nearest thing we have to an air-conditioner being the window, half of them are going to go out to the wrong people.
Must Try Harder.
