For Gord's Sake

The Mail and the Metro both lead today with: "The Gord giveth and the Gord taketh away", although the Mail does at least focus on the important stuff - what Mrs Brown was wearing: calf-length skirt and sensible shoes in '06, short skirt and stilettos in '07. She can probably afford more clothes now that the threshold for 40% taxation is going up to £43,000.
However the Adam Smithsian/Tory notions of penalising the poor by abolishing the 10p rate, appeasing the middle classes with a 2p drop in regular income tax and upping the higher rate threshold should at least convince the deluded Labour supporters who still believe that Gordon Brown as leader will bring the party back to its socialist, or at least left-wing, values that they are decidedly wrong.
Meanwhile, Ken Livingston is apologising for slavery. Maybe he should apologise for the last 10 years.
