I keep seeing social media messages asking women to be careful at Latitude since because there have been two rapes there since Friday. Well, I'd like to ask men if they can go about their daily business without raping anyone. Without seeing or treating women in a violent way. Without seeing woman as things they stick their dicks into. Without causing women to feel unsafe. Without making women feel that whatever they do, they will become victims of male violence.

I apologise if this has offended the non-raping section of the male population, but I'm offended every time I read that a woman has been raped. Or a survey that says most people think if a woman is drunk then she bears some responsibility if she's raped. Or TfL run a campaign against illegal minicabs by insinuating that if you take one you will be assaulted. Or a local park puts up a notice telling women not to walk through there at night because there have been a spate of rapes. Or a man who raped a 13 year old gets off. Or doesn't get to court in the first place. Or a misogynist rapper is lauded. Or an ex-Facebook friend says that most reported rapes are because women regret a one-night stand the day after. Or 'comedians' who make rape 'jokes' 'cos it's 'edgy'.
