Out to lunch at Pogo Café in ‘Ackney, a surprisingly pleasant veggie place with the first nice vegan desert (chocolate cherry cheesecake) I have ever had (usually they taste of purgatory) and a non-combative atmosphere which means we sit there far too long and are a tad late for the wine ‘encounter’ for which Miss JoJo has kindly procured tickets. From anarchist caff to posh hôtel via the no. 30 bus. We taste a lot of Bordeaux, all of which are much alike, and some delicious desert wine and don’t get as half drunk as some of the people who’ve paid for their tickets and the people serving on the stands. Afterwards, we go to a pub for beer and gin and Thai food and Dave sees his footer team win a rather surprising 7-1. Not a bad result all round.
