The Tory, loadsa-money Home Counties, the people us Up Northers hated in the '80s and '90s for electing Thatcher and Major, vote in an incumbent Green MEP, but my own home county, the honest, salt-of-the/down-to-earth Yorkshire folk, the ones who almost brought down Thatcher in '84, vote in a BNP Euro MP? It can't be just people from Harrogate who voted for an ex-National Front member. Ironically, the people in the South East that New Labour courted in order to win in '97 and onwards (and thus pretty much abandoning their grassroots (Northern) support) kept Labour down to fifth place. That's gratitude for you.
I do hope the people that voted for Nick Griffin and Andrew Bron have some terrible problem that only the European parliament can deal with and when seeking help from their local fascist, find out that he's far too busy making links with Hitler-esque European organisations; that just like the BNP councillors elected in Barking who failed to turn up to council meetings, that the voters find out what a useless, ignorant piece of shit he is.
Nick Griffin has tried to turn his party's message from We Hate Brown People to We Defend Indigenous People, failing to realise that all these indigenous people are foreign in origin. We're all mongrels be we Britsh-European mongrels or White-Brown mongrels. Does Griffin believe in evolution? Does he even know about the whole African origins thing? That whiteness is just a reaction to climate, not a state of superiority? If the BNP claim to be indigenous, they must be Neanderthals - no argument from this blogger.
