A Foggy Day
Oct. 17th, 2005 12:09 pmI saw not a single solitary soul on my walk to the tube station this morning - until I got to the main road at least. Dog-walking pensioners drowned in fog, parents taking children to nursery lost in mist, commuters suffocated by wraiths of silver smoke. Whole buildings had disappeared and only the red trees on Highbury Fields acted as beacon to guide me to the tube station where I discovered that the Northern Line is back to normal - traditional Monday morning Severe Delays.
